TSKHE Racer Rules: (updated 08/06/2024)

No Crewing: Crewing TSKHE racers is not allowed in any TSKHE event.  Racers can only receive aid at check points from TSKHE volunteers and staff, or from other racers during the race.

Race Numbers: Race numbers (supplied at check-in/race registration) must be visible on the front of the bike (on the number plate) and the sides of the bike (both sides) at all times.

Non-scannable Racer Terrain Passes: Racer Terrain Passes (supplied at check-in/race registration) must be visible at all times a racer is on the Silver Mountain Resort ski mountain. One Racer Terrain Pass will be given to each racer for each race day. These passes are non-transferrable and will not be replaced if lost. In the event that the racer misplaces their Racer Terrain Pass, they must purchase a replacement gondola pass from the ticketing office. It is advised that every racer immediately attach all day’s Racer Terrain Passes to their backpack, tool bag, or bike immediately to prevent loss of any day’s permit.

Assisting a Racer in need: If you encounter a Racer in distress you must stop to assist them.  Not assisting a Racer in need will result in disqualification.  Time spent rendering assistance to a fellow Racer will be taken into account by race organizers to adjust finishing time.

Staying on course: The TSKHE courses are well marked and Racers must stay on route at all times.  Cutting switchbacks or going off course is not allowed.  If you accidentally go off trail you must return to the point of departure from the course before continuing on the route.

Headphones: Due to the possibility of wildlife encounters, rockfall, and other hazards associated with mountain travel, we highly discourage the use of headphones.  If you insist on wearing headphones, please use only one earbud or consider headphones using jawbone conduction which allows you to stay aware of your surroundings.

Withdrawal From Your Race: If a racer chooses to withdraw from their race, please try to do so at an aid station/checkpoint.  If you run out of gas during your race, you may obtain gas from another willing racer. If you run out of fuel, a sweeper will supply a limited supply of fuel in order to get you back to the Resort Village (down the mountain). Every course will be swept after each race.

Littering: Trash receptacles will be available at all checkpoints. Racers must not dispose of trash on the racecourse outside of aid stations. Tear-offs are not allowed.

Poor sportsmanship toward or insulting any competitor or volunteer: This can result in immediate disqualification.

Cutoff times: The course must be completed within the race cutoff times (Cutoffs can be found on each race page).  If a racer does not make a checkpoint or fist aid station cutoff they cannot continue. If they choose to continue against the request of the checkpoint or fist aid station captain they will be disqualified from the event and barred from entering future editions of the race.

Thank all volunteers and support your fellow competitors: The Hard Enduro family is unique. Racers help each other, and the volunteers put so much time and effort into making this annual event possible. If you see something or someone that is spoiling this incredible event for everyone else, please report it to an official at any of the manned checkpoints. We are all in this together and want this to be the annual Hard Enduro highlight for all for years to come.

*Not adhering to any of the above rules can result in a time penalty or disqualification.  Ultimately it will come down to the race organizer’s discretion.
